The Summer Reading Guide 2025 is here!
Three crashed InDesign files and two all-nighters later...
I honestly feel like I never know what to say when I’m writing these emails to drop a project as massive as my Summer Reading Guides. Believe it or not, this is my fifth annual SRG—I’ve had to count ‘em all dozens of times until it truly sunk in that I’m crazy enough to do this not once, not twice, but 5 times, yet here I am.
So, in honor of sounding like a broken record and not giving a hoot about it: The 2025 Summer Reading Guide is here—and I’m obsessed with her. This year, I leaned into thoughtful, curated recs. I didn’t just give ya thrillers, I gave you thrillers that were meant to be read on the beach with a cold drink. Speaking of cold drinks, I paired books with quite literally every type of wine to give you some reading inspo.
I’ve been teasing this one a lot on Instagram (With my baby photos no, less) and all of your kind messages and excitement made the process of toiling away on InDesign SO worth it. At my core, I am a graphic design nerd, so all of your excitement for the projects I doodle on my iPad or geek out over on InDesign is truly the coolest thing ever. This one has a lot of original art, which is something I’ve never done before but am super proud of. I hope y’all love how it turned out as much as I do.
The “Read” button up there will take you to a very fun digital magazine (the page flip NOISE is so good. I’ve been having some technical difficulties when viewing on Safari on desktop, so she’s best read on Chrome), while the printable PDF version is uploaded to a Google Drive. I still can’t believe some of y’all print these out, but it’s honestly the coolest thing ever. And if you spot any errors, ugh please don’t tell me. I’m sure there’s a typo or two but I’ve spell-checked this and read it so many times that tbh, if I see it ever again, it might be too soon.
All of your support and kindness makes projects like these possible. I talk a lot (especially about books), but I don’t have the words to say how truly grateful I am for each and every one of you. I’m hoping to be more active on Substack where we can REALLY talk, so maybe I’ll catch ya here soon. I have some BTS details about making this that I’d love to share with y’all because this was maybe one of the most stressful things I’ve ever done for this account.
Ttyl, I’m off to actually read now because almost all of my reading time has been eaten up by this guy. LOVE YA!
Epic zine! Appreciate all the work you put into it. Crashed files (and all-nighters) are the worst!!
taking a moment to give thanks to the universe for seeing me. i’ve been delightfully reminiscing the glory of the summer reading list (and spaciousness of the season) for the last few months and like magic, it has arrived! 🪄 thank you!! compliments to your passion for design, it’s v pleasing to the eyes 👀
